Privacy Policy

ChessM8 is an chess by correspondence backend along with the website and mobile apps that allow users to play chess against other players. Players must sign in using one of four authentication providers: Google, Facebook, Twitter and Microsoft. This is because ChessM8 needs to know the players and the devices they use to play chess games on ChessM8. Your information will never be sold or shared to/with third parties, unless required by law.

Information Collected

ChessM8 does not collect PII (personal identifiable information) but it does collect and store the following information:

• The email address associated with the account you sign in. The email is required to make sure that only one account is associated with one authenticated user. Your email address is not shared with anyone.
• Information about the mobile device you play with, such as screen resolution, device manufacturer and device model.
• Communication between players are stored on ChessM8 servers. In-game communication is private between the two players that participate in the conversation.

The information collected is kept on the ChessM8 servers, hosted on Microsoft Azure.
